In June 2008, in conjunction with LibertyBank’s Balloons Over Bend, Bend’s
first Street Painting Festival will make its debut in Central Oregon. This is
one of only two street painting events in the state, and we anticipate a great
response from local and regional artists who wish to participate. Street
painting is a unique and breathtaking art form--there is nothing more striking
than to see a span of black asphalt become transformed into a colorful mosaic of
masterpieces, and to watch it all unfold before your eyes. And this two day
event will also feature live music, food, and of course, hot air balloons!
The
Street Painting Festival is a fundraising event and your participation in
sponsoring an artist’s “square” will benefit art education programs in our
community such as VanGo, Artists in Schools and the Art Station. Your business
or organization’s name will be prominently displayed on the artist’s space and
you will also receive mention in festival literature.
