Tranquility - Jeanne Anson

Following the ride, she crewed for a year. Her first flight lesson was on Independence Day 1979. After 2.5 years of sporadic lessons, she became a Commercial Pilot in January of 1982.

Jeanne has flown in hot air balloon rallies in the seven western states, South Dakota, Wisconsin and France. Dawn Patrol was an option early in her ballooning career, since her instructors were Ken O’Connor and Ron Thornton, the first two pilots to ever fly Dawn Patrol in Albuquerque during October 1978. She began flying Dawn Patrol in Boise, Idaho and Reno, Nevada in 1986. Since then, she’s flown Dawn Patrol all over California.

For six years she served as Balloonmeister and coordinated the balloon pilots for the Siskiyou County Balloon Faire. Jeanne has served as president and board member on the board of directors for Pacific Coast Aeronauts and editor of the newsletter for several years. She served as the Western Regional Director of the Balloon Federation of America, the largest balloon organization in the world. She also serves as a board member of the Wings of History, an aviation historical society located in San Martin, California. Currently she is the newsletter editor for both the Pacific Coast Aeronauts and the Balloon Federation of American Junior Balloonist program.
