Larry Nelson

Larry gave his Wife, Anne, the gift of a balloon ride back in 1992. Anne became suspicious that the flight wasn't just for her after Larry started asking the pilot questions about instruction during the flight. Before the flight had ended, the pilot had let Larry take over the burners and fly the balloon and Larry has been hooked ever since. Anne still never lets him forget his "gift" to her, especially after following Larry and the balloon around all morning in their half ton chase vehicle.

Larry and Anne bought their first balloon, Cascadeflyer, in 1995 and soon found ourselves swept up in travel, first venturing down to Albuquerque to fly in Balloon Fiesta, and later to France's Pilatre de Rosier rally, and even in Todi Italy. With their son John as crew, they now stay closer to home and do most of their flying in local rallies in Washington and Oregon.
